Practice\u201d \u2013 the foundation course for your MA in Writing Studies degree. &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/miazamoraphd.com\/FA2022\/category\/student-blogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Your blog posts<\/a> continue to enlighten and instruct, and you are making strong connections to the readings as well as to your experiences and innate wisdom. &nbsp; practice today&nbsp;(and how an understanding of writing has indeed evolved). &nbsp;I am also pleased that we had a chance to apprehend the formal field of Rhetoric &amp; Composition via the Lauer reading  &#8211; in order to understand our own place in an ever-growing field.&nbsp; &nbsp;Some key issues&nbsp;that reverberate for me based on our reading of&nbsp;Lauer\u2019s&nbsp;\u2018Rhetoric &amp; Composition\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The fact that&nbsp;in the past rhetoric and&nbsp;reasoning functioned at the center of civic culture (Consider the peril of our working democracy today\u2026.what role does rhetoric and reasoning play in civic discourse?)<\/li><li>The complex relationship between reading &amp; writing <em>(\u2026I think we will turn to this complex relationship over and over again with questions of our own<\/em>);<\/li><li>The politics of Literary Studies research\/scholarship vs. Writing Studies research\/scholarship within the \u201cumbrella\u201d field of English Studies;<\/li><li>Does writing construct or merely transmit knowledge?;<\/li><li>Is writing social or individual?;<\/li><li>The disciplinary politics of writing \u2013 how writing is often&nbsp;understood as a teaching practice verses a research pursuit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to anticipate for next week\u2019s class?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Read <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/0B5--sMS-4u43fnFiOHBMVzJjSW1lLVJDN3V3YXVIcXZzNmstdUxNXzQ5eWl2SUlQVVo3NVE\">Writing Comments on Student Papers <\/a>by John Bean<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li>Read <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/0B5--sMS-4u43fnFiOHBMVzJjSW1lLVJDN3V3YXVIcXZzNmstdUxNXzQ5eWl2SUlQVVo3NVE\">Ranking, Evaluating, and Liking: Sorting Out Three Forms of Judgment <\/a>by Peter Elbow&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><strong>Blog #3<\/strong> due before 10\/4\/22- Reflection on the above Bean &amp;
